Have you ever seen the film 'Pay it Forward'? I was surprised how many people hadn't when I started to talk about it. It is basically about how one good deed deserves another but rather than returning the good deed to the same person, you suggest they do a good deed for someone else. Therefore you 'Pay it Forward'.
Little did I know until the other day that there is a 'Pay it Forward' Foundation. When I described how I'd done such a deed and tweeted about it. I was amazed and extremely honoured to get a message from Charley Johnson, the head of the pif foundation www.pifexperience.org. Let's get 'pif' rippling out across the UK. Just make one kind gesture and watch the ripple grow! Things have been steady growing work-wise and I can't believe it's been two months since I started the company! I'm looking into setting up a training branch at the moment and I have a meeting set up to discuss international clinics. I already have two people on a waiting list even though it's still only a thought in my head at the moment. There are lots of hypnotherapy clients booked in this week. I think they are all trying to squeeze in before my holiday! What's planned for the rest of the week? Thursday I'm up at my Harley Street clinic. Some of the Glamour magazine team are booked in for sports massage as their weekly mileage increases in preparation for the Great Parks half marathon. Their muscles are starting to wonder what's hit them! This is my 'Pay it Forward' moment this week. I have asked them, rather than paying me, to make a donation to MIND - the charity they are running the half marathon for. MIND can then use the money to help many individuals with mental health issues. And the ripple goes on! Don't forget to watch out for my new advert in Sussex Living this month. There can’t be many Brits who aren’t proud of what’s happened in the last two weeks!
I have held my breath, shed tears of joy and sadness and smiled so much I think I could have lit up a Stadium. Well how to top that, we are all wondering now? Let’s allow that feeling to spill up over the top of the stadium and engulf the whole UK. We proved that working together is easy. Foreigners to our shores have commented on the friendliness and ease of their visit to this great Isle. So how can I follow that! My plan for the year is to make a difference, if I make a positive difference to just one person’s life; I will have succeeded. If I can help more, then everyone I see is just as important as the first. What’s planned for this week? Firstly just remembering to take a breath and enjoy breathing in the pride of the nation. These individuals we’ve watched jump, swim, run and shoot are just like YOU or I! They have trained their bodies and minds to overcome obstacles and setbacks by using these challenges to fuel their motivation to succeed. Changing yourself from the inside may not always be easy without a guiding hand. Hypnotherapy acts as that guiding hand, it reminds you, you’ve done it before and you can do it again. It helps you to grab that favourite memory you’d forgotten about from your past and helps you put it in your pocket for a rainy day. So that’s what I’ve got planned for the week. I’m going to help some individuals find that forgotten memory and store it for that rainy day in the future. For information on hypnotherapy, sports massage, personal training in London (Harley Street), Sussex and Surrey contact: Becky Wells Director - Becky Wells Limited Ground Floor, No 2 Harley Street London W1 United Kingdom Website: www.BeckyWells.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/Beckyjoewells Contact telephone number +44 7801 941949 Subscribe to my newsletters at http://eepurl.com/n8Svf Wow what a start to my first month of running my own business. It’s been a great mixture of Hypnotherapy, Personal Training, and Sports Massage. I’ve had a steady stream of new clients throughout July that has kept me from sunbathing too much (or was that the lack of sun!). I’m just finished working with Glamour magazine, taking them through a 7 week Matt Roberts ‘Training with You’ programme. On the final week Matt Roberts joined us in Berkeley Square for circuits and the photo shoot. I will miss going up to there on a Tuesday evening and working with such a highly motivated team. Glamour magazine are running the Great Parks Run in Oct for MIND, please sponsor them here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=GLAMOUR&isTeam=true Harley Street is really starting to pick up now as my profile page is up on the Harley Street Therapy Centres website here http://www.harleystreettherapycentre.co.uk/83/BeckyWells.html. I’m looking forward to meeting new clients up there this week. I had my first international client this week and still have ambitions to take my skills abroad. What’s planned for this week? Monday I’m off to Tulley’s Farm to attempt not to get lost in the Angry Birds maze. So if you don’t see any more blogs, send a search party. Tuesday I have an audition for a TV programme but it’s top secret and you’ll just have to wait and see what that’s all about. The rest of the week is filled with appointments, and maybe the odd time watching an hour or six of the Olympics! So you’ve got your bikinis, suntan cream and suitcase. Have you booked your ‘Training with You’ programme with me to get your beach body or set up a time to have hypnotherapy to build up that confidence or lose weight with the power of your subconscious? If not why not, give me a call, I promise I do not have a swinging pendulum or swirling eyes!! What a start to summer (or glummer) as I heard it called.
Have you ever wondered what hypnotherapy can be used for? I would ask that the other way round. What can't it be used for? Weight loss is one of the areas hypnotherapy can complement and enhance other forms of training such as personal training, pilates and yoga. It gets to the the heart of the matter and can help to change years of bad habits, replacing them with positive ones. I have recently been working with several clients who, by changing their lifestyle and eating habits, lost between 10 and 17 pounds over an eight week period. Confidence and self esteem is another area where people seem to bloom steadily as the sessions progress. For me the reward of seeing someone grow is so motivational and inspires me a little bit more every time. What's planned for this week? Glamour magazine team have taken the Royal Great Parks Half Marathon challenge by the horns and are taking their training shoes all round the world. They took their Asics trainers to Australia on a photo shoot. There's dedication for you! Tuesday they are training in Berkeley Square with myself and Vicky from Matt Roberts 'Training with You'. It's going fantastically well. They've been using muscles in their bodies they didn't even know they had. I'm off to Harley Street to see clients on Thursday. Then topping the week off with a trip to Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead. I went last year for the first time and was so impressed by the events and exhibitors that I am looking forward to this year even more. In the British tradition I am going whatever the weather. That's why 'Hunters' were invented. Becky Wells becky@beckywells.com www.beckywells.com T 07801 941949 Twitter @beckyjoewells facebbok.com/beckywellslimited What a great start to my new company! Appointments have been keeping me very busy, spreading my time between London and Sussex. Last Thursday I went up to a ‘Women in Business’ networking meeting with Jon Roberts, a speaker from Matt Roberts Personal Training. What a fantastic motivational talk. I picked up the keys to my Harley Street consulting room last Thursday, so appointments will now be available there on a Thursday afternoon. The training with Team Glamour from Glamour magazine is going fantastically well. They are such highly motivated people who work so well together. They are training for the Great Parks run in London in October and are raising money for MIND. You can follow their training blog on http://www.glamourmagazine.co.uk/love-sex-relationships/health-fitness/2012/team-glamour-running-blog#!image-number=1and see what training myself and Vicky from the Matt Roberts ‘Training with You’ team have been putting them through. My Matt Roberts ‘Training With You’ ladies in Mid Sussex are also doing amazingly well with their sessions. They have been going for four weeks now and have lost almost 16 kilograms between them already (almost 30 bags of sugar)! They have lost 25cms around their waist and 12.5cms round their hips between them. Keep up the great work ladies. So what’s planned for next week? Well lots more hypnotherapy and sports therapy clients are booked in but I have given myself the day off for my birthday on Wednesday 11th (21st birthday again for the 17th time)! Monday at 9am I’ll be over in East Grinstead on the Meridian 107 FM Breakfast radio show I sponsor with Mark Dodson, and then off for my coffee at Mr Andre’s coffee shop. I’ve missed them whilst I’ve been so busy the last few weeks. On Tuesday evening, why not come and watch us train the Glamour Team in Berkeley Square. Fingers crossed the rain stays away! fly. It’s been a busy week again and it’s not looking like it’s going to get any quieter soon. I am lucky enough to be able to say I love what I do. After my unexpected start to the week meeting Mr Peter Andre at the New York Coffee Shop in East Grinstead, the week just kept improving. Saturday I decided that it was time to try my hand at being Robin Hood, with my parents and sister in tow. I booked archery at Priory events in Redhill, I think I might need a little bit more practice before the Olympics. Hypnotherapy sessions are being booked well in advance now. The main sessions being booked at the moment are weight loss but I have also had enquiries about using it for postural control, sports performance with footballers and stress relief. On the website I have now set up a package deal which includes both Personal Training and hypnotherapy for weight loss. I watched a fascinating video on being an introvert on the Conviviality website; this was also an article in the April Psychologies magazine. It was one of those videos and articles which makes you think “so that’s why I do that and I thought it was just me”. What’s planned for this week? I’m off to London again Saturday to attend a follow up training session with Matt Roberts and the Conviviality team at his Mayfair studio. Who knows what other little adventures will pop up this week, as my friends will tell you, life is always unique and never dull when you’re friends with me. Don’t forget to have a look on Facebook and ‘like’ the BeckyWells.com page, Matt Roberts Personal Training page and Conviviality page. into the middle of this week, hopefully leaving those cold winter evenings heading off into our distant memories. Thoughts of spring lambs, Easter and clocks leaping forward bring us gradually out of our hibernation. So what have I been up to over the long winter evenings? I thought it was the perfect time to refresh my skills and add a few extra ones. Over the past two weeks I’ve been travelling up to central London to attend various courses. Last weekend I spent time training with Matt Roberts and his ‘Training with You’ team. This new programme is initially a six week programme where between 2 and 8 of you are trained in the comfort of your own home, once a week. All equipment for these sessions will be supplied for the one and a half hour sessions. The simplicity of the programme ensures that if you follow and stick to it, results are guaranteed. I have now put a button on my website which links you directly through to the Matt Roberts ‘Training with you’ website which is run in association with Conviviality. What else have I been up to? This weekend I went up to do my final Acupuncture training sessions with Bernard Nolan, his clients have included various well known premier football clubs, a number of well-known celebrities and he has appeared on GMTV, Trisha and other daytime TV programmes. It was great to learn from such a knowledgeable individual who made musculo-skeletal acupuncture, so understandable. I look forward to putting my skills into practice in a month’s time, once my case study has been submitted. Also on my weekly trip to the New York Coffee shop for my morning coffee in East Grinstead, I got to meet and talk briefly to the gorgeous Peter Andre; I can say he is as good looking in real life as he is on the TV! Happy Birthday Mr Andre, I hope you had a great day. Why have I chosen to add acupuncture to my list of skills? I have realised over the past 14 years of doing what I do, that having a holistic all round approach to people’s health and wellbeing means that not only can I treat their physical needs but I have the ability to work with them to modify their psychological barriers as well. I also feel it is extremely important not to try to go beyond my knowledge and to realise this when I need other professionals, such as the Physiotherapists that I work with at Head2ToePhysio in Crawley. I can honestly say that the most important thing to me is making someone’s life that little bit better using the skills I’ve picked up over the past 14 years. Listen out for me on Meridian 107fm the Local Community radio station in East Grinstead on Monday mornings and feel free to have a look on my website. Don’t forget to read all about my lambing experience in this month’s Sussex Living magazine. Last week I went up to Knightsbridge for an informal interview with Matt Roberts Personal Training team. I met a very professional lady called Vicky at the training studio and have been lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to work with the team as an associate personal trainer after being selected from over 100 applicants apparently. Looks like this could be an exciting new step, watch this space. Whilst in Knightsbridge I thought I’d pop into Harrods and whilst chatting to the sales guy, he offered to put my business card up in the staff room. Now wouldn’t that be something, getting a client from Harrods! Saturday I was wearing my other hat following stories for my Sussex Living articles. A local small holding phoned me to say their sheep had started lambing. You can’t beat seeing a lamb being born; it melts your heart when they let out that first bleat. Read all about it in the March issue of Sussex Living. I’ve given a sports massage voucher to the Burgess Hill Pamper Shopping & Craft Event for Breast Cancer care for their raffle. The event is taking place on Friday 30th March between 6pm and 9:30pm at Burgess Hill School for Girls. Let’s support the event, it's such a worthy cause. I’m off to London this weekend to start my acupuncture training with Bernard Nolan and somewhere in between, I need to plan what exercise regime I’m going to put Mark, the Meridian FM Breakfast presenter, through when I go on the show next Monday. For information on hypnotherapy, sports massage, personal training and soon acupuncture in Sussex and Surrey contact Becky Wells at www.beckywells.com Follow me on twitter @beckyjoewells Give me a call 07801 941949 The world of beckywells.com has started this year with all guns blazing! The other day I was accepted on an acupuncture course for sports therapists which I start later in the month up in London. I'm so excited. I've wanted to do this for years! Also the Conviviality team, who are working with the amazing Matt Roberts, Personal Trainer, have invited me for a chat in Knightsbridge this week. I'm going to do just a little shopping while I'm there! In another development, Meridian 107 FM Community Radio Station in East Grinstead have asked me to sponsor their Breakfast Show. Listen out for me starting on the 23rd January. This week I’ve started my training for the Sussex Living Mid Sussex Marathon weekend in May. My running trainers have been dusted off and I treated myself to a new running strip. Those who know me know about the fish and animals that live with me. Fish can be a great source of relaxation, so I took myself off to Crawley and bought myself some new salt water fish and creepy crawlies. Take me into Gucci and I would probably buy nothing, take me in an aquatic shop and I’ll come out with half the shop and go back for the other half later. It's magical just watching them all whizz around in the corals and live rock. Please don't forget to read Sussex Living magazine as I try out different activities. Next month is all about exercising with the elderly. |
